Messi was on the bench against Ecuador

Coach Lionel Scaloni has confirmed that Lionel Messi will be in the starting XI for the Argentina team against Guatemala. In today’s press conference, Scaloni confirmed that Messi will play. Messi was on the bench in the match against Ecuador. The match is tomorrow at 5.30 am.

After the second half, Di Maria was withdrawn and Messi was brought on the field. But Scaloni stated that Messi will be included in the first eleven in the match against Guatemala, and added that he will not play the player for a long time. Messi was injured while playing for Inter Miami in MLS.

Messi not yet to fully recover from this injury. So Scaloni added that such a move is to keep Messi injury- free ahead of the Copa America. Argentina’s first match in the Copa America tournament is against Canada on June 21.
